Gayatri Yagya: Awakening of the Supreme Intellect

1. Introduction: Gayatri — Mother of All Mantras

The Gayatri mantra is one of the oldest and most revered mantras in Vedic tradition.
Found in the Rigveda (3.62.10) — the oldest Vedic text.

For millennia it was esoteric knowledge, transmitted only at initiation — the upanayana (sacred thread ceremony).

Text:

"Om bhur bhuvah svah, tat savitur varenyam,
bhargo devasya dhimahi, dhiyo yo nah prachodayat"

Translation: "We meditate on Your Divine Light, O Savitur. May It guide our intellect."

Gayatri is not just a mantra. It is the mother of all mantras, embodying the principle at the foundation of all Vedic knowledge: meditation on the light of supreme intelligence.

2. Savitur — The Sun as Symbol of Supreme Intelligence

Gayatri is addressed to Savitur — the solar aspect of Brahman.
In Vedic tradition, the Sun is not merely an astronomical body — it is the symbol of supreme intelligence (buddhi) that dispels the darkness of ignorance.

Traditional recitation at sunrise, noon, and sunset — activating different levels of consciousness:
— sunrise — activates mental body
— noon — strengthens will and life force
— sunset — integration and reflection

3. What Gayatri Yagya Neutralizes

Weak or afflicted Mercury (Budha): memory and concentration disorders, communication difficulties, indecision, children's learning problems.

Weak or afflicted Sun (Surya): loss of life direction, self-doubt, fear of authority, self-expression difficulties.

Afflicted 5th house (house of intellect, creativity, children): chronic mental fatigue, creative block, children's learning difficulties.

Gayatri Yagya strengthens the Sun and Mercury, purifies the 5th house.

4. Practical Applications

Studies and exams: students taking important exams. Parents order for children. Effect: improved memory, concentration, learning speed.

Important life decisions: before choosing a profession, city, partner. Clearing the mind for clear decisions.

Recovery from depression: Gayatri restores the sense of meaning and direction that disappeared.

Creative block: writers, artists, musicians — those who lost inspiration. Gayatri "opens" the channel between intellect and the creative source.

Communication improvement: public speaking, negotiations, sales — when one "can't find words."

5. The Power of 108 Repetitions

108 is sacred in Vedic tradition:
— the Sun's diameter is 108 times Earth's
— distance from Earth to Sun is approximately 108 solar diameters
— 108 marma points in the human body

Gayatri japa in multiples of 108:
— 108 repetitions — basic daily practice
— 1,008 repetitions — for a specific request
— 10,008 repetitions — deep purification of the intellectual body
— 100,000 repetitions (Laksha Japa) — complete purification of mental karma

The brahmin recites the mantra with correct svaras (Vedic intonations), simultaneously performing fire offerings.

6. Ritual Offerings

Fire offerings: til (sesame — mind purification), ghee (amplifies bright qualities), homa-samagri (special herb blend activating Mercury), samidha (mango branches — Surya's tree), gur (raw sugar — sweetness of knowledge).

7. Results

First changes: "I don't react as sharply to irritants," "I can see situations from outside myself," "easier to find words," "mind became clearer."

Within 1–2 months — stable mental clarity as a new baseline. Complex tasks solved faster. Memory improves.

"As the Sun illuminates the entire world simultaneously, so Gayatri illuminates all levels of the mind."
